It was recently necessary for me to attend your A & E Department.
Although the department was busy I was dealt with by staff within the times that were stated on the board. The doctor on the 'majors' unit listened to my symptoms very patiently and showed care and concern - this continued as I was transferred to the Clinical Decisions Unit where further tests were required. The initial clinician called for further advice from elsewhere in the hospital and calmly advised me I needed to remain overnight and I was surprised that a bed in the CD Unit was found so quickly; staff in the unit treated me with respect and kindness.
The next morning I needed x-rays and told that it would be necessary for me to be fully admitted - again I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was transferred to Margery Warren Ward. All the staff on the ward made me feel safe and confident in the knowledge that I would be well treated and my problem would be resolved quickly.
I would like to thank everyone involved in my care from the time I registered at the front desk, to the porter who took me to x-ray, nursing and medical staff, as well as those keeping me fed and watered - you all played a part in speedy recovery.
