Had visited my GP earlier in the day and was given antibiotics for cellulitis. By late evening it was spreading rapidly across my face and to the corner of my eye so I became worried and phoned 111 who booked the appointment. I was also following GP instructions. At the Urgent Care Centre I had the most shocking treatment by a Dr I have ever experienced! They wouldn't let me say anything (describe symptoms or anything). They basically said "your Dr gave you antibiotics this morning so why are you here?". I explained that the Dr I saw said if it spreads - especially near my eyes or I develop a severe headache (which I have) then I should go back. I also said I had just spoken to NHS 111 and they had sent me to them. Their answer was "You should have gone to emergency then" and sent me on my way with a prescription for some cream. I'm now back home in bed with a continually spreading infection towards my eyes and a severe headache feeling like I'll be called a fraud if I go to A and E. With current concerns in the media about misdiagnosed sepsis I'm shocked at this treatment. Even I know an infection like this can lead to septicaemia if allowed to worsen. Very disappointed and will never use this service again after being made to feel so small!! Every other department in your hospital has always treated me brilliantly!
"Never been treated so badly by a Dr"
