(as a parent/guardian),

We had to use the emergency services when my daughter crashed her car. The call handler and the ambulance crew were excellent. My daughter phoned me to say she had crashed the car and a kind lady had taken her into her house as she was distraught, when I arrived she was clutching her chest was crying and saying it was very sore.

I called 999 from the ladies house and the call handler was very professional and patient as I did not know the phone number or the address we were at. The ambulance crew were excellent ( Shona & Tommy) they were friendly, professional and brilliant at putting my daughter at ease and taking her to A&E.

We take our emergency services for granted but when we need them they step right up and do an amazing job. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your experience on Patient Opinion.

I was really sorry to hear about the road traffic collision (RTC) involving your daughter. We attend so many RTCs in the ambulance service that it can just become a normal, almost daily part of the job. Thankfully, if you are not a member of the emergency services RTCs are extremely rare and can be therefore be extremely traumatic and distressing. I was so pleased to read about the care provided by Shona and Tommy and how they managed to put your daughter at ease. I will ensure that your thanks is passed onto them.

I do hope that your daughter is recovering well.
