Mum was admitted to Ward 1A on Wednesday 8th March. Initially arriving via A&E around 6am, she was placed on 1C before moving to 1A around 7pm that evening.
Firstly, mum was lucky in that the doctor in A&E was also the Doctor for 1A, so she received a level of continuity when up on the ward which was brilliant.
The staff on that ward are amazing - especially those who treated my mum with care, respect and dignity.
I watched one staff member in particular, interacting with other patients and they hava a true vocation for nursing - such a lovely way with them.
Since 1A is the frailty ward, patients there often need slightly different treatment.
Nothing was too much trouble, and I felt confident and comfortable that mum would (and did) receive the kindness and care she deserved.
Well done 1A staff - you are a credit to the NHS.
"Great staff on ward 1A"
