I ended up having surgery at this hospital after spending three days as a patient screaming with excruciating pain, I was discharged the day after surgery with no aftercare advise what so ever, cannula was removed from my arm and I was sent on my way. I was then admitted again two weeks later with severe pain and very large swelling in the area the surgery was performed but still had to go through all A&E process even though there was a possibility of major complications from surgery they performed on me on my previous visit. The nurses (not all) on ward C30 failed to medicate me properly and very irregularly, some of which complained they were ' busy ' when I buzzed for assistance and required pain relief as they hadn't shown with them regularly but thought I couldn't hear as expressed their displeasure to other members of staff when I disturbed them I.e asked for help. I spent four days there and consultant was very abrupt, rude, cruel and very very unsympathetic and refused any proper investigation to discover the route of my pain and swelling. I left the hospital after four days of them doing nothing as the consultant made me feel stressed and intimidated then made it clear they weren't going to do anything, also threatened to take my pain meds away. Seemed as though they weren't interested in anything I said and constantly repeated they just wanted to send me home with pain meds without finding out the cause or problem. When I disagreed with this opinion they called me a bully so I requested a transfer to another hospital but they refused and then refused to leave my bedside when I asked them to repeatedly so I could get dressed and leave due to this cruelty which made me very upset and caused me to have a panic attack and become hysterical as I screamed for them to leave me alone which they replied and I quote ' it's a hospital I work here and you can't make me leave ' while smirking at me. I then responded with; ' I don't feel comfortable in your presence so please leave so I can get dressed ' I also told them that I thought they were cruel and very unsympathetic which they responded by throwing their head back and laughing at me. They eventually left me alone, in tears and very shaken, I got dressed and left the hospital and had a family member collect me a take me to another hospital where I had further tests and investigations done after only spending four hours there. The lack of concern for patient welfare and care at this hospital is disgusting! I went to these people for help and I ended up becoming more ill. Patients aren't just numbers, one in and one out, they're people who need their help and someone to show they care about their health and wellbeing. I will not recommend anyone to visit this hospital and I sure as hell will try to discourage anyone considering visiting this hospital, if that's what you can call it! The staff (not all) here should be ashamed and disgusted in themselves and maybe look into a different career path.
