"to be honest i didnt like my visit ..."

What I liked

to be honest i didnt like my visit to Trowbridge i had to take my boyfirend upto the hospital after he a an accident at football.when we were seen the nurse immediatly came across as grumpy/ moody and seemed to judge my partner and not take him seriously as a patient - seemingly as he mentioned that he has been taking part in football training. firstly she didnt take any care when assessing his ankle the swelling alone was a clear indication that something was wrong and the fact that his ankle was black with the blood collecting around it. the only nice part was that she did give him an ice pack - she then after 10 or so minutes tried to get him to walk on it - which he couldnt do and collapsed into a machine to hold himself up and stop him falling on the floor which she wasnt happy about - the huffing and groans under her breath were not called for i think - and to top it all off she refused to give him any cruthes stating that he doesnt need them he should be able to walk on it in 2-3 days - only after i complained did he recieve the crutches and she stated that if we didnt like how she has diognised him to go to the RUH - needless to say i got him straigh in the car and off we went!

What could be improved

how the nurse handled the situation - just because someone comes in with an injury that she has more than likely seem hundreds of times i would expect any nurse upon seeing that injury to treat it like it was the first time she was dealing with the injury and treat it accordingly not assume that everyone that has any injury has the same problem. secondly her attitude she wasnt polite on that night at all.

Anything else?

my partner ended up tearing 3 ligaments around his ankle - tear the cartilage on the bridge of his foot and damaged his Achilles tendon - he wasnt able to walk for 8 weeks! and was on cruches for around 10 weeks and now 1 year after on it is still not healed and is looking at the prospect of surgery to sort out this injury. - needless to say i shall not take my partner back to trowbridge as i DO NOT trust their judgement.

i do not like to complain but i do not believe that anyone should be treated with that kind of disrespect - the nurses do not like it and neither do patients!
