"Very patronising condescending GP in A&E"

About: St Richard's Hospital / Accident and emergency

I had a terrible experience in A&E with a certain GP (I will not name and shame as I will be sending an official complaint to the Chief Exec) I was on holiday in Butlins with my family, 11 weeks pregnant started bleeding so took myself off to A&E obviously extremely worried, when I was seen which was fairly quickly I was seen by a very patronising GP who went on to tell me that lots of ladies have miscarriages etc (I do know this as I have had a miscarriage before also and when my family members asked if they thought I was having a miscarriage they said no I think it's just a little bleed go off and enjoy your holiday!! As if that was going to happen I was refused a scan to see what was going on I was repeatedly told that hospitals are struggling financially so a scan would not be offered, I am from London where I have had previous scans and was told that it's because of London that the NHS is in financial difficulties, atleast London knows how to look after their patients!! As it turns out I had a delayed miscarriage so I was 11 weeks pregnant but my baby had already died 3 weeks earlier so I had been carrying around a dead fetus but was told by this GP that I had nothing to worry about, and constantly spoke down to. This incident happened on the 16th February 2017 I have had a few weeks to recover now and I have been extremely ill! This doctor's treatment of me did not help and I think this doctor needs to learn some people skills!! I am absolutely disgusted at my treatment I have an extensive medical history which should have been taken into account and the fact that the doctor didn't even know what Cancer I had 2 years earlier (I had to explain what type my cancer was) I would not want to be treated by a GP who seems to need educating in cancer and miscarriages. There is a lot more to this story which will be explained in a official letter to the chief exec this is just a brief summary of what happened! I really hope no other person gets treated as badly as me, I feel like this GP didn't want to treat me because I was from London!! At the end of the day I pay my taxes and national insurance and should receive the same care I would receive in my home town! I'm sure if this GP was in London and needed treatment they would want to be treated.
