"I was admitted to St Mary's ..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

What I liked

I was admitted to St Mary's in September with an infection and had to undergo an operation for a Sub Clavical artery bypass. I woke up in ITU 48 hours later. My experience from that moment was exceptional. The care I recieved from the ITU team was 1st class. They kept my wife informed and updated at all times and were a great comfort to her. From then I was moved to HDU all staff were very busy but the treatment from the team was compentent. After being discharged I came under the care of the OPAT team, where I went once a week to have my bloods taken and my dressing changed. This is where this Hospital really comes into it's own. I was given information and advice and even given access to contact phone numbers should I need to get in touch with them. I am truly grateful for the treatment and care given to me both as an In Patient and as an Out Patient.
