"Admissions process was not acceptable"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I stayed at Pinderfield's Hospital on Ward H in the Urology Department. The best things about my treatment was the standards of care generally and the caring attitude of the ward staff.

My admission process could have been better. It was postponed for a week, with only a few days notice. Then finding no bed available at 12.00 noon, then being asked at 5.30pm to starve and to report back the next day at 8.00am. Then at 7.00pm told to report immediately while they had a bed.

At discharge from being dressed and ready to go, it took four and a half hours before i was eventually supplied with my GP letter and a pack of antibiotics. I was angry at the length of time to discharge me and especially angry at being offered drugs which were not mine. I hate to think what might have happened with someone who is older/lest alert or confused.
