"A comedy of errors"

I was sent to msk Bedford by my GP as I have had Plantus Fascitis for several years and am working with a limp permantely due to the pain.

I was first sent to a physio who assessed me and they suggested a steroid injection.

I waited for another 3 months and got my appointment. After another 2-3 month wait I was seen by another physio who injected my foot with use of an ultra sound. This worked for a glorious 4 days without pain.

I then had to wait another 3 months to see a doctor about shock wave therapy. They booked me in for 4 consecutive weeks. I had no change to pain levels throughout this time.

They suggested he leave it for 2 months to see if there was no improvement and I said there wasn't.

They told me that my only option now was surgery and it was pointless injecting me or anything else.

I was concerned about this as my foot after 3.5 years has never been X rayed or had an MRI scan.

It seems to be guess work.

I am then called my a person at msk who asked would I be prepared to go to reading for the operation to the circle private hospital there. I agreed and they booked me an appointment with the consultant who would do the operation.

I turned up at the appointment thinking it was a consultation about the operation and they immediately asked me what was wrong with me and to go through the whole history!! I told the consultant and they said that there would not be any operations and that they would be injecting my foot with cortisone today??? I tried asking the consultant why it hadn't worked before and they said they must have put it in wrong place.

The consultant said they wouldn't operate as they had never had any success with the operation!!

That says it all.

I attended on my own and had to practically hop out of their room as the pain was so great. I had to drive home in that state as I had not been warned prior to attending.

Clearly unacceptable and here I am after all this time with a painful foot and limp.

I am going to now make an official complaint and will have to go back to my GP to see if I can be referred elsewhere. I've lost all confidence in this place!
