I was taken to A&E by paramedics with a strangulated hernia, wheeled intoA&E around 3.30pm and placed in a wheelchair. an hour and a half later without any examination I was taken round to medoc, waited another hour there before being taken to kingfisher ward to wait and see a doctor.. several requests to find somewhere to lay down were denied although I was in agony , I was never offered any sort of pain relief,i had to lay across a couple of chairs in the waiting room. around 11pm I again spoke to the person on the reception desk about somewhere to lay down only to be told nowhere was available. opposite the reception desk was a small ward with 3 empty beds so I went and laid on one of them. the receptionist was most annoyed. at around 1.15 am a doctor finally came to see me. on examining me the doctor said "if that bursts it will kill you" then the doctor spoke to the other people present and said they wanted to get me to the operating theatre within 15 mins and disappeared. my treatment from then on was 1st class but why did it take so long for an initial examination after being rushed to hospital by paramedics. I could have had life changing consequences.
"9hour wait from entering A&E"
