"My mother, spent her final 5 days ..."

About: Alton Community Hospital

What I liked

My mother, spent her final 5 days at ACH suffering from advanced kidney and lung cancer. She was diagnosed only 9 weeks before she passed away, and during that time she spent several weeks between Basingstoke and Southampton General Hospitals. When we were told that she could not be operated on and that she was going to die, she was moved to ACH to be "closer to home". This meant that my father, brother and I were able to visit her every few hours during her last few days, without the hassle and expense that we had previously endured.

The staff at the ACH are exceptional professionals. They ALL dealt with my mother's illness and passing with the upmost dignity, whilst offering true and consistent support to my family during our most difficult times.

We thank them with all our hearts and will continue to support a fantastic hospital and team.

What could be improved

Nothing could be improved.

Anything else?

If this invaluable local resource was to be closed (or threatened with closure) it would be nothing short of a travesty.
