"Improve the delivery time for items ordered by patients"

About: Medium Secure Division / Prichard

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was in a hospital in London before I came here and have been at St Andrew's since May 2015, but have been in hospitals since 2014. I was moved here as it suits my needs better. Staff treat me as well as they can. There are a few nice staff and they do a good job really. We have a good manager here, he comes out of the office a lot and sits with us, asks us how we are etc. The MDT are also quite good but the doctor would be much nicer if he came to the ward and sat with us, asking how every one is etc.

An improvement would be with the ordering. If you order on a Monday the things get brought up on a Wednesday by stores. If you order on a Wednesday, it wont' get brought up until the following week and I have to wait until the next week because you have to wait until the following Wednesday to get it from the stores. I would rather get my stuff on the day it comes to the stores, rather that have it sitting in the stores and you have to wait for stores to bring it up because it is sitting somewhere in the hospital. Especially when I have paid for it. If I was ordering from my house, I would get it when it was delivered.

Thank you for the useful feedback and I’m particularly happy that you are treated well by the staff.

We have explored the issue surrounding delivery times and will continue to work with our ‘stores’ colleagues to try and improve processes.
