What could be improved
This is the specialist ward for stroke recovery. My relative was admitted on a Saturday morning and had no therapy until Monday - just for about half an hour. Recovery needs proper therapy applied as soon as possible. Why does the hospital have no physiotherapy or massage available during weekends? Sitting alone in a chair or bed all day is not acceptable care and will surely lengthen her stay in hospital and the cost to the NHS.
Anything else?
We need more smaller units than this mega-hospital around Bristol and South Gloucestershire with proper access and public transport links. Transport to this hospital is hopeless from anywhere more than a couple of miles away.
