I had a total right knee replacement on the 10th of February. The doctor is lovely and an absolutely brilliant consultant! I couldn't wish for better care. They have a kind nature and a very lovely and caring bedside manner. They made me feel like I was their only patient, although they had many in ward C8.
The patient flow coordinator is also fantastic as are many other staff on C8 including those who do the catering. Bless them all for taking care of me so well and keeping me fed and watered.
I loved that I was in a female only bed bay/ area. I would not feel comfy with having a male in such close proximity. Thank you for this.
I am still recovering (in quite a lot of pain, but that I hear is normal) only 8 days later, it is today, however I am determined and continue to do many exercises, from the moment I wake up until I sleep. I want my knee at 90 very soon. My daughter and sons exercise with me and keep me motivated.
I had such a pleasant stay at Addenbrookes and feel safe knowing, should I need to go back, there are such wonderful staff at Addenbrookes. I love the NHS and I adore all of you, for the huge amount you do, for the very little you are very unfairly paid. You are my heroes. Regards, Naiyyer A.
Kindly pass my comments onto ward C8 staff. thanks, Naiyyer.
