I was admitted to the AMU Ward via my GP on 6th Feb 2017.
Within 1 hour of being admitted , I had received a brain scan and undergone a Lumber Puncture. This diagnosed viral Meningitis. I was very impressed by all the Dr's,Nurses and staff that I was in contact with. They were all true professionals and care was clearly paramount to them.
I am now at home suffering a number of after effects from my illness that I hope over time to resolve. I have to say that I witnessed some interesting characters(Patients) whilst in hospital and have to report that some did not display or reciprocate the respect of the staff.Swearing and acts of aggression to name a couple of acts. The staff remained committed to the care and remained professional throughout in some difficult situations. You are truly special people.
My extra thanks to one nurse, a caring superstar that never stopped.
Kind regards and all once again many thanks, Steve Dakin.
