About: Samuel Johnson Community Hospital

What I liked

I attended this hospital on the 7th of August 2008 .

I was asked to report 10 minutes before my appointment time of 4.30 I duly reported at 4.06 very early as I met little traffic.

I waited until 4.50 when staff were obviously leaving and asked the receptionist how much longer I had to wait, she was obviously embarased and told me the audio staff had left for the night! She showed me that I was reported as in attendance on her screen but the staff had left anyway.

This morning I rang the administrator at 9.05 but there was no one available!!! A recorded message said if it was an emergency to ring another number, good job I am not a poor pensioner!!!

I have heard many complaints about this (hospital) I use brackets as it seen to me to be a glorified consulting suite of offices rather than a hospital!

I am not impressed with staff who leave their posts EARLY and leave people waiting, luckily the receptionist had the sense to let me out of the car park without charge!

What could be improved

Full time staff who work the hours they are paid for.

Better selection of staff who care about patients.

A hospital administrator who has someone to answer calls, had my case been an emergency I would have had to redial after having got a pen and noted one of the two numbers.
