"My aged mother has just spent ..."

About: Ilkeston Community Hospital

What I liked

My aged mother has just spent 3 weeks in Manners Ward after coming from D.R.I. after having a total knee replacement.

The level of care, attention and kindness shown to my mother, and from what I can see all the other patients in the ward, was nothing short of magnificent.

This comes as no suprise because 9 years ago my terminally ill father was looked after by a lot of the same staff, and the care he received was priceless.

I get so annoyed when people knock Ilkeston Hospital. O.K. perhaps things dont always go right. Perhaps new systems dont always work.

I am afraid a lot of people have forgotten what the role of the N.H.S. is all about.

To look after sick people and make them better is still the top of my list.

Manners ward staff do that 100% better than anyone I have ever seen.

They are a credit to the hospital, and the hospital is a bonus to our area. I am not sure how many people realise this though.

My best wishes to all of the staff at Manners Ward.

Paul Miller.
