"Excellent stay at Maple Ward"

About: West Park Hospital

I recently had a relapse and spent three weeks on Maple Ward earlier this year. I was very unwell when I was first admitted and the healthcare team were so patient and spent a lot of time to understand my needs and how best they could meet them.

They allowed me to have daily visits with my children even if they were out of the visiting times because hey knew how important this was to me.

The junior doctor that I saw was amazing and spent so much time with me to really understand what was going on and how best they could help. Between the docotors and the nurses I was totally involved in my care and understood the decisions that they were making. When I was in hospital the staff were always around the patients and at no time was anyone trying to hide in the office away from patients.

When it came to discharge the team headed by the amazing junior doctor took the reins and along with my input dictated the slow and steady pace so that I could avoid a relapse in the future.

I am most definitely in a better place due to the care, compassion and understating of the healthcare professionals on Maple Ward.
