What I liked
I recently gave birth to my daughter in the RD&E (Wonford). I was advised to due to possible complications with my baby. The staff were lovely but there were so few of them! The new maternity centre was really good. As a first time Mum I felt lost and upset in Exeter. Then I transfered to Tiverton. Wow, what a fantastic place full of wonderful staff. Exhausted and emotional we arrived at the unit to be greated with smiles, tea, toast and I felt a huge sense of relief. My baby had not been washed since she was born, so as soon as I was settled a lovely HCA said she'd bathe my daughter, and settle her down (as she was crying). The midwife gave me some pain relief and another member of staff ran me a bath. Wonderful 5 star luxury. I felt happy and cared for. The food was good. I hope if I am lucky enough to have more children, I would love to birth in the Tiverton unit.
What could be improved
Its perfect!
