"Thankful for such prompt care"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Medical Oncology (Ward 16)

(as a relative),

A close relative discovered what they thought may be an sign of a possible cancer. Within one day she had been to see their G. P, who referred her straight away to Monklands Hospital, North Lanarkshire.

From the time of the first concern, until she was given the all-clear was just a little over three weeks, which I think is truly amazing.

When it seems sometimes all you read, or see, in the media, is how badly our S. N. H. S is performing, it's stories such as this one which never make the headlines. I would just like thank all the people involved in this particular case, for their kindness and prompt action which is very much appreciated.

Many thanks for taking the time to write to us with feedback on your relatives recent experience in Monklands Hospital. Being investigated for a suspicion of cancer is a very stressful time for everyone. It is our intention to make sure that the diagnostic part of the journey is as quick as possible. This ensures that people who recieve an 'all clear diagnosis' are given this news as soon as possible to relieve the anxiety for patients and their relatives.
