"I have so much respect for doctors and nurses"

About: The James Cook University Hospital / Neurology

(as a relative),

Hi I would love to give my feedback on the nurses and health care assistance from Ward 24 Neurosurgical HDU at James Cook University Hospital Middlesbrough.

I feel it would be nice to tell the readers of Care Opinion how grateful I am to the nurses and health care assistance on Ward 24 HDU for the care they gave my brother who has been in hospital since July.

First he was in ICU for over two weeks then was moved to Ward 24 HDU and was there for over four months. My brother suffered a massive bleed on the brain also known as a cavernoma and was in a very bad way and whilst in Ward 24 HDU he received the best care.

One nurse who I know you can't name but he looked after him in HDU room 1 quite a lot deserves a lot of recognition for his work his dedication to the job and his patients.  Along with making family members feel comfortable with his knowledge and humour whilst finding ways for the Ward to run smoothly is a gift and I can't thank him enough.

I also noticed on Ward 24 HDU the close bond between the nurses and the tight on point routeen even though they were rushed of their feet.

Since visiting the James Cook over the months, I have so much respect for Doctors and Nurses and I am even considering taking a new career path as I admire all of them.

My brother is still in hospital but doing ok, I hope this is read by all at James Cook especially Ward 24 HDU, and I hope you can reply to this. Thank you for reading this I hope this is a positive piece of feedback to show our NHS is the best, despite all the negative stories.
