The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team at Millview has helped me very much indeed.
I was referred after taking an overdose. My diagnosis is BPD. It's difficult living with this diagnosis at times and life had got completely on top of me.
This week the team has visited almost every day, and considering how busy they are I think they have gone above and beyond the required visits.
I have struggled with accepting care over the past year and have not been the easiest of patients. I know I was angry with two staff members who came out on one occasion but I have to think of it from their perspective. I'd drunk alcohol, not much by most people's standards, but for me it was enough to trigger self harm and I most probably seemed quite drunk. These staff members were coming out to see someone, me, who for all they knew could have put them in danger. I have thought about this a lot and have decided that I can't drink alcohol as it leads to self harm and if I've got people taking the time to come out and help me, then I need to take responsibility for making sure they feel safe.
thank you
