About: The Cheshire & Merseyside NHS Treatment Centre

What I liked

Was surprised when all staff, from consultants down, encouraged the use of first names. This generated a relaxed, friendly, atmosphere without compromising work ethics.

Apart from one small exception any imagined or real concerns about my health were listened to and acted upon which was reassuring and I am certain contributed to my speedy recovery.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this Treatment Centre to anyone

What could be improved

Layout of ward washroom made toileting and washing difficult. Heavy chair opposite sink made reaching toilet flush handle awkward for this hip patient. (I noticed that some patients had obviously not managed it!) If positioned beside sink chair wd. be out of the way and also enable use whilst washing. Too heavy to drag over. Paper towel holder could be closer to sink. No-one in ward worked out how to get hot water from tap.

Heavy fire door not easy to operate if on crutches and tended to self close with handle banging on hip region.

And finally, can't anyone invent something to stop a pair of crutches sliding off every surface and falling to the floor?
