My Mum was put on Midgley Ward suffering from Pneumonia. From the minute she arrived they treated her with great care and dignity. The staff despite a bought of flu on the ward worked tirelessly to make my mum comfortable.
They kept my Dad up to date and encouraged my mum despite her arthritis and pneumonia.
Unfortunately I became obvious she was not getting better so began palliative care. Despite this they treated her with great dignity.
We were called enroute to the hospital of her passing away peacefully.
The sister treated my Dad with amazing support and compassion at this difficult time and it was clear this was a great vocation for them as they could not do enough to try and comfort him in his grief. My Dad and I would like to thank all the staff we came into contact with from A & E, Midgley ward and the bereavement office for the high standard of care given and the personal support after my Mum passed away.
Thank you .
"Midgley Ward excellent care for my Mum."
