In December I started to look for life insurance to protect my mortgage, my GP supplied a report, the prospective insurer asked GP for extra information, over the festive season, I phoned the practice early January to ask if report had been sent back, was told no but the GP had it, I then received further communication that it had not been returned, I phoned a week later and the person who deals with this was not in.
I phoned on a couple of days later, I spoke to to this person and they said said gp had not had time to do the report due to festive season and days off, but they said they would ask the GP upon their return to work (the next day). I advised that this insurance was required for mortgage starting on 23rd January, on 26th January I received further notice that information still not been sent.
I phoned the practice again, the person i spoke to wasn't available so I left a message for them to call be back when they were back at their desk at 12pm. At 12. 25 I rang them as no call back, I spoke to this person again they said that the practice had spoken to the insurer that morning and the info had been sent the week previous, this turned out to be incorrect as I have received yet another notice on 8th February that this info has still not been sent.
This time I handed a letter in to the practice manager and asked if she could shed any light on the matter, This was at the beginning of the week and asked if she could ring me but have had no response as yet.
This is causing me great concern. I may not be in need of medical attention but this information is required because of past health issues and I would have thought it would be part of my gp's duty of care to me..
