"I can't praise the staff enough"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow

(as the patient),

From the moment I arrived at the hospital I was treated with dignity and respect. Ronnie, one of the nurses in the admission ward was kind and by providing me with information and knowledge of the process helped me to relax.

The auxiliary nurses on ward 10 were amazing. The nurses couldn't have been kinder, more professional and caring just what I needed after my operation. Nothing was to much to ask.

The porters provided light relief and laughter which helped enormously.

The surgeon, his registrar and anaesthetist talked me through the operation

and explained what to expect during my recovery.

I can't praise the staff enough.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us about your experience at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

It is clear that at every level, the staff you encountered made such a difference to your experience by being kind, friendly and caring. What also strikes me is that you mention how staff made sure that you knew what to expect at every stage, which is always key in making people feel safe and secure in what can often be a very anxious time. It's something that unfortunately we don't always get right, and your story highlights how important that it is that we do.

I'll send your feedback on to the team as I know they will be pleased to read such lovely comments.

I hope you are recovering well, and wish you all the best,

Lorna
