I have been a patient at Bolton Hospital and stayed on ward F3 and ward F6. I have been treated for cancer of the kidney. Everything was brilliant and I was cared for by the medical and nursing staff very well.
When I was on holiday I passed a kidney stone, my doctor, Dr Hunt then sent me to the urology department at Bolton Hospital where I had a camera put into my bladder, then I had an x-ray. I also then had an ultra scan where the nurse spotted a small lump on my right kidney so I then went for a C.T. scan to identify what it was. The surgeon, Mr Mantilades told me that it was cancer and he would remove the lump. I went to hospital on the 8th September for the operation. I spent 6 days on ward F6 high dependency where also I had pneumonia. I then went to ward F3 where I recovered.
I am due to go for an appointment with Mr Mantilades, the surgeon on 15th November for a report and for any further treatment that I might need. All I can say is that without the diligent treatment of the staff at the hospital I would have had this cancer growing inside of me without knowing. I have been extremely lucky to have had the service of Bolton Trust Hospital.
"A huge thank you to the diligence of the staff at bolton trust hospital"
