What I liked
What could be improved
1) Discharge procedures - did not meet Dept of Health standards
2) Communication between staff, especially over preparation for discharge
3) Teamwork - too much was left to doctors (who visited once a week at most) so patient waited a long time for decisions re treatment or discharge
My family member was in Fordingbridge Hospital for rehabilitation. Since my experience of Fordingbridge, I have experienced St Leonards Hospital, Ferndown, Dorset. Only 10 miles away but seemed like another planet, particularly in relation to points 1-3 above.
St Leonards is a piece of good practice. Why doesn't Fordingbridge management learn from them?
