Our baby girl was delivered by c section. Unbeknown to us she turned out to have downs syndrome. At the time it was obviously a bit of a shock but the care, direction and sheer love of everyone involved in her birth was fantastic. We truly believe that the care given at this time set us on the right path to deal with the extra challenges our daughter may have. It was a difficult day with every emotion imaginable running through us but all staff were so supportive and even although at the time they're words were just sounds around me, those initial words of encouragement have stayed with me.
Special thank you also to our consultant who guided us through a difficult pregnancy and the midwives who cared for us in recovery, especially the one who literally showered our whole family with kisses.....you know who you are! Ha ha x
