"Inguinal Hernia Repair"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / General Surgery (ward 4a)

(as the patient),

Late in posting this but great care from the team at Gartnavel during my hernia repair in June '16. Everyone was friendly and professional, managed to get a cancellation slot which was even better for day surgery. Thanks to Mr Chong & his team, Anaesthetics, theatre and the ward staff in 3c when I had to be kept in overnight. Couldn't fault the service one bit, I have worked in this hospital and still work in healthcare which probably makes me one of the worst patients but everyone put my mind at ease and reassured me.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear jordan1,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your day surgery experience at Gartnavel. It's always really interesting to hear the experiences of staff who have worked on the 'other side' if you like and I'm glad that everything went so smoothly for you, particularly in terms of the friendliness, professionalism and reassuring nature of the staff looking after you.

I'll look forward to passing your comments onto the team, I'm sure they will be really pleased to get such positive feedback from you.

Best Wishes,

Lorna
