About: Helston Community Hospital

What I liked

Last week when I was on holiday,I was treated as an outpatient in the minor injuries unit for a bee sting. My only complaint was that I had to wait a long time as you were understaffed at the time. When I was seen the nurse was extreemly helpful and was very knowledgeable, and showed concern with my injury. The receptionist was also very helpful.

All in all you can be proud of your hospital and staff

p.s. the ratings that are set in the middle I haven't altered as they did not apply to my case

What could be improved

The only improvement I can think of is to get more staff, but I know that may be difficult with budgets these days

Patients attending the Minor Injury Unit are triaged on arrival to assess the nature and severity of their injury. We aim to see, treat and discharge all patients within 4 hours of arrival at the unit according to the nature and severity of their presenting injury.

We have recently appointed an additional 2 Registered Nurses at Helston Community Hospital. One nurse started last week (13th August)and the other is due to take up post at the beginning of September.
