What I liked
Over the past twelve months I have had in-patient experience at three different hospitals and on August 1st attended Birlingham ward for a day care procedure.
Although I appreciate that this was a less traumatic event, I feel that I could not let it pass without making the following observations.
From the moment I entered the ward I was treated with a friendly greeting and this continued throughout my stay.
What impressed me the most however, was the cleanliness of every area I came into contact with, and I observed at first hand the attention to detail by the nursing staff in the cleaning of beds and ALL associated areas used by the previous patients in readiness for the next person. In addition, this is the only hospital I have attended where I noticed that all nurses appeared to have hand cleaning gel on their person at all times.
The conditions within the hospital are in my opinion a credit to all concerned, and let us hope that the facilities are allowed to continue for a very long time
