I accompanied my son for bowel screening on the 2 February for a 1.30 pm appointment. At 3pm he was still waiting to be called for the procedure. I then asked staff if he had been forgotten as the appointment time had well passed. I was advised that they were waiting for a bed. I said okay as long as they had' not forgotten him. He finally then went to theatre at 3pm and came out after 5.30pm. My son said the procedure took place at 4 45pm. I was very disappointed that he had been given a 1.30pm appointment then have to wait so long. He had fasted from the day before the procedure, so nothing to eat for a day and a half.
My son has Autism & I am 74.
I object to him being given an appointment time that could not be kept.
