I am not one to leave reviews usually but was so impressed I want to. On arrival at the Ward reception I was met with a friendly and helpful staff member who checked me in. I had arrived at 7.40 for an 8 am appt and I was pleasantly surprised by all the staff walking through to start their shift saying hello to me and my brother in law. There was a mix up about whether I should have been there or Heatherwood ( not sure if my fault or theirs) but they still juggled things to accommodate me and I was seen second. A number of things particularly amazed me: 1. All the staff despite obviously being very busy were polite, friendly, had good humour, were accommodating, respectful and put me at ease. They seemed to get on well as a team and the Ward had a good atmosphere despite the reason people were there. 2. I have had a colonoscopy twice before, the first at another hospital 15 yrs ago when I was mildly sedated but in pain and left me dreading having it ever again. The second one was 5 yrs ago on Lady Sopell Ward and I needed 4 days off work to recover from the sedation. Yesterday's op was so stress free and I have had the best recovery yet. The member of staff doing the procedure noted I had had a high dose last time and got the dose spot on so no pain and quick recovery. Thank you so much to the staff for the extra effort you make because it really is noticed and appreciated.
"Lady Sobell Ward staff outstanding"
