"First time appointment"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

So far I've been waiting 12 weeks for an appointment in the Rheumatology department after a letter sent to me saying I would have an appt within 8 weeks if not I was to phone up which I have done twice only to be told there are no clinic openings-----so what is going on in that department. Because it is a routine referral is my name constantly being put to the back of the list? A routine appt does not mean that I am not suffering or physically struggling, so please can someone enlighten me as to the long wait.

If you do contact our team, can I please ask you to advise the member of staff that you are responding to your Care Opinion posting.

I will forward your posting to the senior management team, so they are aware of your experience.

Update posted by Catlady (the patient)

Hello Miss Langham, Thank you for the very delayed response to my complaint and yes I was seen by a consultant in February of this year and had limited treatment which has not been of much help to me but I'm guessing there's not much anyone can do about it. Regards catlady.
