"Emergency ward is a disgrace."

About: St Thomas' Hospital / Accident and emergency

The hospital wards are very good and so are the staff however the same can not be said about the emergency ward. It is absolutely disgraceful. It seems like a social club, lack of professionalism, lack of same sex nurses (after specifically asking for a female nurse because I felt more comfortable, they completely ignored that fact). It seemed to be a social gathering in the hallway, a lot of giggling and discussing their social life's loudly. Not to mention there is no discrepancy or patient privacy. The reception staff and security some how showed up during my epileptic fit as of it was a show and just stood around which felt very uncomfortable not to mention that my gown opened and half my chest was bare for all to see. I was also emotional as you can imagine and for some odd reason the doctor treating me thought that it would be best to leave my area and just let all the staff know that I was crying and emotional. Also the doctor treating me did not bother to look at my file and during my seizures decided to try and discuss my health. I am very unhappy and completely shocked at the emergency ward. I have been attending the hospital for many years, the emergency ward has completely forgotten how to behave.
