About 3 weeks ago, I put a story on here, as I was feeling failed by CMHT. Every time I attended CMHT crisis team, I was feeling failed, as although I was was being listened to I was not being heard regarding my low mood and other mental health symptoms.
I felt that when speaking with cpns, there was too much emphasis put on my physical health, housing and social circumstances, and this was put at the root cause, as to how I am feeling, although I tried to convey that I didn't believe that this was the cause. I was not heard, and I felt that they were not willing to look beyond the above mentioned in order to help me.
I gave up. However, the GPs, Dr Pollock & Dr Gardiner, at Kilwinning medical practice I attend, did not.
I was referred for a assessment with a psychiatrist and earlier this week I was told that I was suffering with PTSD.
I have now been left with a small bit of hope that I am going to come out the other side.
However, I know within myself, that if it was not for the tremendous commitment, support, persistence and care that I have and am still receiving from these GPs, then the outcome would have been so different. A big thanks to my doctors.
