I arrived at safari ward and met a nurse called Andy. He was really funny and kind. He made me laugh lots while he was asking me questions and checking me. I waited from 12: 30 until 6pm for my surgery, it was a long time and I was very hungry! All the nurses there were really kind to me and my Mum, and one even gave me an Arsenal jigsaw! Because I was worried about the cannula, Andy got one to show me and explain, then I wasn't worried anymore. Andy even played Top Trumps with me while my mum went for a cup of tea and I destroyed him, sorry Andy!
I also had fun playing table football with mum in the toy room but wish I had found the Wii! !
At the start of the surgery they put the cannula in my hand while I was looking for Wally in the where's wally book. I then asked my mum a question but fell asleep before she could answer.
After surgery my eyes hurt and I couldn't open them but I think that's normal to happen. After I'd had some water and biscuits I got in a wheelchair and went home. Overall I think it was a good surgery and I wouldn't mind going back if I had to.
