About: Southmead Hospital

Had to visit ED late Sunday evening for palpitations. The care and attention I received was from start to finish a very good experience. From the Nurse that came out to the waiting room to double check on me to the tea person who double checked if I was allowed fluids. Friendly doctor and very lovely facilities

Perhaps next time the lovely ECA that did my blood test would use a needle and not a serrated spear :)

Overall a shining example of the finest the NHS has to offer where the staff continued to work hard despite having to call in the police at one point to deal with a gentleman who decided he didn't have as good an experience as me.

Dear Anonymous - thank you for posting your experience of the A&E department at Southmead Hospital. I am sorry that you found the blood test painful, but I was pleased to hear that otherwise your experience was very positive. I have shared your experience with the A&E Teams so they will be aware of your feedback.

Kind Regards - Steve Sykes
