"Ward E3"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

Just want to say a big Thank you to the staff on the ward, particularly the doctor and the nurse who showed great understanding when dealing with my mother who was admitted with pneumonia and was very confused and distressed at times. She has mild dementia and was agitated, the doctor wrote a note for her to read when confused and explained what was happening. The communication with home was very good and all the staff did their best to get mum to eat and be comfortable. They also made it possible for her to come home as soon as possible knowing we could look after her needs. Thank you to,you all for the care you gave her.

Thank you for taking your time to send such positive feedback. It can be a very distressing time for patients and their relatives who have dementia when they are admitted to hospital. I was very pleased to hear your experience was a positive one and the staff showed empathy towards your mothers needs, that all staff communicated well, and they made it possible for your mother to go home as soon as possible.

Thank you once again for taking the time to post such lovely comments which I have shared with the management team. They will ensure that the relevant staff are informed of your feedback which they will undoubtedly be pleased to receive.

I hope your mother is recovering well and wish you both well.

Kind regards
