"visit to A & E Department"

About: Buckland Hospital

My husband fell off his lorry last Friday, cracking his head on the ground. Was taken to BucklandHospital as its just round the corner from where he works. Was told he would Have To wait At least 5 hours before he was seen and advised to go to William Harvey. No one thought to Check If he was dizzy, felt sick or his sight blured. Disgusting service.

Or no service or care given at all. Went To William Harvey, kept there for a good 6 hours, cat scan, wound on head glued to stop it Bleeding.Good care, consideration and professional at all times.

What was the money spent on at Buckland, certainly not the staff.

I am truly sorry that your husband could not be seen promptly at Buckland especially as it was close to his work place.

It is very unusual that there is such a long wait at Buckland and it would be very helpful to us if we could explore hat went wrong.

Please will you contact PALS (the Patient Advice and Liaison Service) on 01227 783145 or 01227 864314 so that we can take some details.

You may get the answerphone, as PALS are very busy and may well be dealing with other calls, but if that is the case, please leave a message and they will guarantee to get back to you.

I am glad to hear that your husband received the treatment he needed at the William Harvey Hospital and I hope that his head wound is now mending well,
