"Nobody seem to wash their hands at Northampton General"

I went to the Emergency & Medical assessment unit at Northampton General hospital. I was very alarmed that most of the doctors and nurses when entering the unit did not wash their hands with the hand gel that was located at the entrance. There was a red line painted on the floor to remind people to wash their hands. I only saw two nurses wash their hands and some ambulance men. I think that they should be setting an example and I would not want to stay in this hospital now that I have seen this. It makes me wonder, how clean is the hospital?
