"Hollingworth Psychiatrists Ward Birch Hill..."

About: Birch Hill Hospital

There is no privacy available for visitors to have a conversation with in- patients. Visitors are discouraged and obstructed by staff from seeking privacy.

As such my visits were held in the communal dinning hall surrounded by evesdropping in-patients and greeted with occasional guffaws. When side rooms are available, various wandering patients are freely allowed to enter and sit down listening. What a shambles, a disheartening standard for patients on medication and a very poor standard for visitors who may need a constructive discussion with a vulnerable friend.
