(as a relative),

Husband took unwell over the Christmas/New Year, resulting in phoning NHS 24. Spoke with call centre, appointment arranged to see on call emergency doctor at Airdrie Health Centre. Extremely appreciative of those working over festive period!

How nice of you to take the time to thank the staff who worked extremely hard over the Christmas and New Year period. I am sorry your husband was unwell and I do hope that he is now on the mend.

Here at NHS 24, the festive period is an extremely busy time for our service and much planning goes into ensuring that patients receive the required level of care when their GP surgeries are closed. We work together with our partner Health Boards to ensure that patients continue to receive a safe and effective service. Patient safety and a positive patient/caller experience are our top priorities.

I am sure my colleagues within NHS Lanarkshire will also be pleased to receive your positive comments.

I will share you feedback more widely within NHS 24 so that staff can be reminded of the appreciation felt by patients and callers to our service.

Dear Aldo

Thank you for your feedback and comments on the service you received over the festive period and I hope that your husband is recovering well. The Out of Hours service in NHS Lanarkshire create winter plans well in advance of the festive period and we are able to work with our partners such as NHS24 and the Scottish Ambulance Service to maintain accessible high quality services. I am glad that your experience has been a good one and I will share your feedback with the staff across our OOH’s service who are very professional and work extremely hard all of the time.
