I gave birth to my little girl on 11/12/2016, and am so greatful she is here safe and sound but would like to send a massive thank you to the Dolphin suite and the midwives who took care of me! I was able to try to have the water birth i wished for and was supported fully to do so without taking any pain relief unless i felt i needed, unfortunately after a long labour i ended up having to have a forcep delivery and again the team that performed this were amazing!!! However after nearly 3 days of being in labour my experience was ruined on ward 11 where i felt the hospital was completely let down, some midwives on this ward were great but this was luck of who was on shift, i was left in tears after a doctor came to check my baby and told me the doctor thought there may be an issue with spots on my little girl without going into detail, and that they needed to get a second opinion, which is great as i would have wanted her to be checked over of course and made sure nothing was wrong but nearly 2 hours later my baby was seen to! It wasn't what was said fortunately but i was left scared for my baby and angry That i was left as a new mum worrying about my daughter! I was also discharged without being told information i should have been and had to have a letter sent out to me. Every birth is different some worse than others and mums and baby needing more care but i felt on ward 11 it was so unorganised and at times was treated poorly by certain staff members, my partner was also denied a chair to sit on after the birth of our baby and i was unable to do much for first few hours of being on ward. This was ridiculous.
"Thanks to the Dolphin suite and staff.."
