"never saw a specialist"

About: Lister Hospital / General medicine Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I am writing now cause I can't even believe this can happen

yesterday I went to qe2 around 18 pm and after 2 hours waiting I have seen a doctor and they were worried about my health (photophobia and head pain and all the meningitis sympthoms) so they called lister and they sent me to hospital stevenage with a letter.

arrived in stevenage and after another 2 hours waiting they made the blood test and I have been told to wait now for the results.

after another 2 hours waiting I asked the nurse if they can tell me how long its gonna be cause I wanted to leave and they said "I recommend u to stay cause you have been reffered to a specialist" and they said there's only 2 patients before me on the list so I decided to stay

after another 3 hours I did asked them again and they told me there is only 3 patients before me and when I asked how its possible they just raise their shoulders "maybe emergencys"

So after I left from work spent roughly 9 hours waiting in the hospital I decided myself to leave at 3: 30 morning without being seen by a specialist and I woke up in this morning with the same pain and I cannot even take day off from work cause I dont even have any letter from doctor!

We're sorry that you are disappointed, but our A&E will always prioritise those whose lives are in immediate danger - which is why waiting times can be longer for some people. Given that you decided to leave A&E, we recommend that you make contact with your GP to discuss your health concerns. Alternatively you can always call NHS111 (just dial 111 from your phone).
