"Duty of care"

About: Goring Hall Hospital

My husband was referred to Goring Hall back in June 2016 as an urgent referral, we were sent to see a spinal surgeon, my husband was told he would need an operation, which was urgent due to a foot drop which really isn't good in a 40 year old. After seeing the surgeon and told an operation would be booked, we were brought in for the pre-op with the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune to meet. We were given a date for the operation which was cancelled due to the surgeon leaving the hospita and we were informed that we then needed to re attend to see another surgeon, which we did, since then we have been waiting for a date some 20 plus weeks on. We have been passed from pillar to post and have now just been informed that the hospital have no theatre space available when the surgeon is available, so his care will now be transferred elsewhere to another hospital.

I have now contacted the other hospital who have absolutely no correspondence from Goring Hall, so again we are back to square one. Today the switchboard was out of order at Goring Hall and the only person I was able to speak to was a rude unhelpful secretary who told me "we are on a skeleton staff" call back next week.

Thank you for leaving your feedback.

I am really sorry to hear of the issues you have experienced.

If you could email Ailee.Baxter@BMIhealthcare.co.uk with your husband’s name and any other information, I will investigate and come back to you.

Kind regards

Gary McHardy

Director of Clinical Services
