"Completely abandoned me after a suicide attempt"

About: Cheshire And Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

I was admitted to Macclesfield Hospital after a suicide attempt. I saw a psychiatrist from Cheshire and Wirral. They talked to me for about an hour, said they would refer me to IAPT and gave me a number to contact. I waited for weeks and didn't get a letter. I tried calling the number but it rang out. I contacted the IAPT service directly and was told they'd never received a referral. They arranged a phone consultation, but then I got a phone call from a person who told me I should never have been referred to the service because they only treat moderate patients and having attempted suicide meant I wasn't eligible for mental health treatment! I asked what services they had for suicidal patients and they said none. They then contacted my GP without asking my consent or informing me to say I'd been discharged from their services because I had plans to move out of the area. I made a complaint to the PHSO, who were absolutely useless. The trust lied to them by saying they'd only discharged me because of the plans to move and saying the phone conversation never took place. The PHSO believed them, not me. The only thing the trust did say was that the psychiatrist didn't refer me to IAPT as they promised because of 'human error', which I suppose means they were too lazy to write a letter. I was OK because my parents paid for private therapy for me, but other people in the area don't have those resources and have no option but Cheshire and Wirral's terrible service. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. I know the NHS is underfunded, but these aren't the actions of people trying their best, these are the actions of people who don't bother to get the basics of their jobs right. It's morally disgusting that they feel entitled to take money from the parts of the NHS that are trying to deliver a good service and sit around on it doing absolutely nothing.
