"Helpful and reassuring GP care"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as a parent/guardian),

One of my children was unwell recently with symptoms that were potentially quite worrying. We took him to our GP at Doune Health Centre to get checked out and they were very thorough in checking out all the possible causes. Not only this but the GP (Dr Jardine) was very kind and spoke to my child to understand how they were affected by the symptoms. We were able to have a chat on the phone to go through the results which was great because it was much easier to fit around work and busy family life. Everything was fine in the end, but even so, Dr Jardine was very careful to check with me that I was happy with what we had discussed and was attentive in his efforts to see if I had any further concerns about my child.

Overall a very good experience and I was very grateful for the caring attention we received. I would just like to offer one small suggestion for improvement and that would be for the reception staff just to be a little more friendly and welcoming. I know it can be a tough job at the front desk, but a little smile and a "hello" or a "good morning" with good eye contact can make all the difference to the feeling of an interaction.

Dear Shammy

Thank you very much for posting these kind words, it was lovely of you to take the time to get in touch, I will share your feedback with the team and the next staff meeting where we will also take the opportunity to discuss the concerns you raised.

I hope that your child has made a full recovery.

Kindest regards

Dr Charles Jardine
